There's only a few more weeks of this brutal summer left, and as we head into September we have a lot going on at the pub, so let's get started!
Oktoberfest 2022!
Oktoberfest officially rings in the autumn season and we are planning a heck of a celebration that will kick off with on September 17th and will run through October 3rd. Here's what we have going on!
Our Oktoberfest party kicks off on Saturday, September 17 with with Polka! Starting at 4pm our friends from the Fresno State and Fresno City College music departments will be in lederhosen and playing all the famous German drinking songs! They will stick around until the evening so come and enjoy!
At 5pm we welcome Fresno Social Sports and the US Steinholding Association for our steinholding contest! Men and women will complete in seperate categories, holding a 1 liter stein full of beer at arms length for a long as they can! The last one standing in each class wins! In addition to some rad prizes, the two winners will head to Sacramento to compete for the state championship! Head over and sign up today. So what about the beer and food? First, we're introducing a special beer just for Oktoberfest! It's a crisp, clean Märzen that we've had lagering for the past two months. Medium bodied, slightly sweet, amber in color, and very sessionable, this beer will be perfect for filling our huge special edition steins! Since you will be hungry, Hagman BBQ will be on-site for the kick off party cooking up some super delicious hand made German sausages! We're also doing a very special kielbasa and sauerkraut pizza with mustard dipping sauce (you thought pickle pizza was weirdly delicious?). Lastly, we have GIANT PRETZELS. These suckers are 12" in diameter and delicious with our pub mustard and a beer! The food and beer specials will run during the entire two and a half weeks of Oktoberfest!
And lastly, we have beer steins! We did a limited run of ceramic, 24oz steins, specially printed just for Oktoberfest 2022. These are unique collectors items and there's less than 100 of them, so they will go fast! The cost is $30 and that includes your first pour. But here's the great part; for the duration of Oktoberfest (September 17-Oct 3), you can bring your stein back in and get a full 24oz pour for the price of a normal pint! Remember, we have less than 100! They go on pre-sale September 1st, so grab them quick!

Supporting Our Community
I want to wrap this up by talking a bit about the organizations we supported this last month.
As you may have heard, we collaborated with our good friends at Crow & Wolf Brewing and created a special beer to benefit Kicks for Kids, a charity that provides new shoes and backpacks for underprivileged kids going back to school. We are proud to say that we raised $2650, and the program as a whole distributed over 2000 pairs of new shoes! We are really looking forward to raising even more next year for this awesome charity!
